The Black Wyverns is a blend of fantasy and military fiction that follows the recruitment of Alexandria Stonekeep into the Black Wyverns, an elite mercenary company. This excerpt from Chapter 12 has her and her unit "The Wraiths" on a secret information gathering mission where the veteran members of her unit explore and explain what it really means to be a Black Wyvern.

The Legend of Hawkwind was the first novel I had published. After a few years of growth and learning the craft of writing, I'm looking to retell the story in a more mature fashion. Things will end up retooled, characters dropped or merged, dangling subplots removed and generally update the story without losing the kernel of the great plot I originally dreamed up. Even so, This excerpt is a piece of action I've always thought I captured very well.
